Rick Price, PGA Professional

As the Haystack Mountain Golf Professional, Rick Price matches Haystack's clientele and learning programs to a tee!

Rick, born in Ft. Morgan, CO, began playing golf at age 8. When he was 13, he was already skilled at club repair.

Although a state champion wrestler at 14, Rick chose to devote his summers to golf. Golf icon Paul Runyan became his teacher and mentor until he left for college in 1980. Rick credits Paul as being, "...the single largest factor in the development of my teaching philosophy."

From 1986-1988, Rick was a touring pro, qualifying for three PGA tour events. After stints at Maryvale Course in Phoenix, one of the busiest courses in the nation, and as an instructor for the Golf Digest Schools in Paradise Valley, Rick came back to Colorado.

He has been with Haystack Mountain Golf Course since 2000. He approaches teaching as a strict fundamentalist. "Of all the methods, systems and ways to swing a club, most of them will work if basic fundamentals are adhered to, but none will work if you are not fundamentally sound."
